POSITION SUMMARY |
|
The Receptionist serves as the welcoming face of the school, greeting and directing visitors with a friendly demeanor. This role is essential for responding to inquiries from both staff and visitors, ensuring everyone receives the necessary information or is appropriately referred to other parties. The Receptionist plays a key role in facilitating a smooth and efficient flow of communication within the school environment. |

Skills-based Competencies Required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; adhering to safety practices and procedures; promoting activities and/or events; screening telephone calls; using general office software applications. Knowledge-based Competencies Required to perform basic math, read a variety of manuals, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: professional/business telephone etiquette; concepts of grammar, spelling and punctuation; keyboarding; knowledge of community resources; office equipment and technology; personnel administration practices; recordkeeping and record retention practices; and school safety and security practices. Ability-based Competencies Required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited.
