UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly motivated junior accountant to join our growing Finance team. As the Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the finance team by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payables, which includes preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations for assigned accounting areas. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about accounting and eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced environment. This role is a key member of the accounting team and will interact with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurately create new vendors as needed.
  • Acts as backup for check runs, which includes printing checks, collating documentation, securing signatures on checks, and mailing them in accordance with policy.
  • Professionally manage the internal Accounts Payable inbox and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders, such as finance, accounting, compliance, HR, IT, audit, and vendors via email and telephone.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of invoices, payments, and related documentation for audit and reference purposes.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors through automation and other improvements.
  • Review operations employee timecards for completeness, communicate with employees directly regarding missing time, and work closely with operations leads to obtain approval for the time employees enter.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support month-end closing procedures, including preparing and uploading monthly journal entries, analysis, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
  • Shows attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work.
  • The ability to create reports as needed to provide metrics and to assist in enforcing adherence to internal policies.
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related fields.
  • 2-4 years experience in accounting, finance, or accounts payable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and combining formulas.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to generate and interpret data and reports.
  • Team player, able to collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm
  • Eagerness to learn and curiosity to ask questions

SALARY RANGE: $63,000 - $70,000
The exact salary varies within range based on years of relevant experience and education.
