What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at CCS Construction Staffing?
My client is currently looking for a Lead Estimator to support major commercial projects in the Phoenix area. They're a strong full-service mechanical contractor that has been serving the state of Arizona for 40 years with many active projects in the pipeline right now and a strong backlog for future growth. They specialize in commercial, healthcare, education, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. They have a strong reputation in the Phoenix area and have won many awards for their work and culture!
What you will be doing:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC and plumbing construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Utilize estimating software including FastDUCT, FastPIPE, Bidtracer, and other industry tools.
- Import and manage project plans and specifications within bidding platforms.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Assist with subcontractor and vendor prequalification processes.
- Maintain current pricing databases and market cost information to ensure competitive bid strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers on proposals, budgets, cash flow projections, RFIs, and preliminary project schedules.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct market research and stay informed of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging opportunities.
- Support annual sales and revenue objectives exceeding $6M in awarded work.
What you need for this position:
- Experience estimating commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects.
- Proficiency with FastDUCT, FastPIPE, Bidtracer, or similar estimating software.
- Educational background in Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering, or a related field.
