General Description:

The Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in expanding access to recovery-oriented education by recruiting students, cultivating strong partnerships across Region One, and advocating for substance use and mental health resources. This position serves as a bridge between the recovery high school, community agencies, families, and referral sources to ensure students in recovery are aware of and supported in accessing educational and recovery services.

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify key stakeholders and subject matter experts in each jurisdiction. Increase the number of contacts of stakeholders.

  • Engage with students that have been identified as struggling with SUD and students that have been tempted to use, acting as a preventative deterrent. increase enrolled CRA student contact with community based recovery resources.

  • Increase regional school outreach efforts.

  • Expand caregiver engagement opportunities and increase participation.

Budgetary Responsibility:

Report Preparation:

May be required to prepare reports for use by the Program Coordinator related to operations and programs.

Equipment Operation:

Proficient in computer use and general office equipment.

Contacts:

General public, community stakeholders, government agencies, division leaders, school staff, etc. – daily, to provide information regarding admissions, program operations, community resources.

Work Direction/Supervision:

Performs majority of functions independently.

Work Environment:

Some work is performed in an office environment; noise level is quiet to moderate. Some work may require presentations to small groups, government agencies, and community members.

Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of: substance use disorders, recovery, and adolescent recovery. Demonstrated ability: to identify students appropriate for Chesterfield Recovery Academy; to develop recovery goals for students within the program. Design and deliver presentations for government agencies, school systems, community members, and students and families. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to students, parents, and other professionals. Demonstrates knowledge in all areas of recovery, mental health, and substance use disorders.

Additional Job Requirements:

High School diploma, training, or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Applicants considered for employment must successfully complete the following background investigations/tests:

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation

  • State Police Criminal History Investigation

  • Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation

  • Tuberculosis Screening/Test

Compensation

$39.34 per hour
