Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: Lab-Pathology Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: The Laboratory Quality Coordinator has the responsibility of bridging laboratory and nursing services through workflow reviews, laboratory quality data audits, education development and implementation, and continuous interdepartmental communication that emphasizes quality improvement associated specifically with laboratory services. The Laboratory Quality Coordinator routinely collaborates with both laboratory and nursing leadership and educators to address any quality, compliance, or regulatory concerns identified through observations, audits, or by any other means. The position will foster an open relationship with nursing services, developing trust and understanding of laboratory requirements for ensuring quality patient care, as well as serve as a lab quality resource for all departments. Qualifications: Associates or bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or an appropriate biological, chemical or physical science from an accredited program Minimum of 5 years’ experience collecting and/or performing laboratory testing in a clinical setting to include those tests classed as waived, moderate or high complexity Candidate must be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent nationally recognized certifying agency About Us: Cook Children's Medical Center is the cornerstone of Cook Children's, and offers advanced technologies, research and treatments, surgery, rehabilitation and ancillary services all designed to meet children's needs.
