PLC Automation Specialist II – Allen-Bradley


Carlsbad, NM | 7 on / 7 off (12-hr shifts)

Pay $64.00/hr medical benefits

Long-term Contract (12 months)


We’re hiring an experienced PLC Automation Specialist II to support onshore oil & gas production. This is not entry-level and not a general electrician role. Strong Allen-Bradley PLC experience is required.


What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot & maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), RTUs, and HMIs
  • Program PLC logic using Studio 5000 (Ladder, FBD, Structured Text)
  • Configure & support FactoryTalk View HMI systems
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot level, pressure, flow & vibration instrumentation
  • Support automation across well pads, batteries, SWDs & compressor stations
  • Follow MOC, safety, and corporate automation standards

What You Need

  • 3 years PLC / Automation experience
  • 3 years oil & gas operations experience
  • Strong Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation skillset
  • Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop sheets
  • Willing to work a strict 7/7 rotational schedule
  • Comfortable working independently in remote field locations
