The Facilities Operator supports internal and external client needs by performing job requirements in Facility and Pipeline Projects including preventative maintenance, mechanical installations & repairs, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Safely maintains equipment and supports facility pipeline operations, including reading / interpreting schematic drawings (Process & Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) and electrical), inspecting / monitoring equipment and maintaining operation / technical standards and/or governmental requirements.
  • Ensure all work conducted in his / her area is properly permitted.
  • Demonstrates the ability to monitor operations with minimal guidance. Ability to watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure equipment is working correctly.
  • Maintains general knowledge of work site locations, equipment, and permitting.
  • Receives, inventories, and catalogs instruments for calibration according to schedule.
  • Maintains installation and completion records.
  • Inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
  • Tests accuracy of flow meters' pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments to detect defective components in the system.
  • Removes defective instruments from system decontaminates, disassembles, cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.
  • Participate in the development of project scopes and work plans.
  • Complete all applicable record keeping and documentation for the client as well as state & federal governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Build integrity, honesty and trust with stakeholders, clients, and employees.
  • Establish and maintain rapport and strong working relationships with co-workers and client representatives.
  • Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by CCI Industrial Services and clients while on shift, on call, or attending training.
  • Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.
  • Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
  • Maintain compliance with required HSE Training.
  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
  • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives. .
  • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
  • Demonstrate support for company and client environmental management system.
  • Coach and train CCI crew members.
  • Be a team player, striving for an interdependent, successful, and effective approach to meeting our vision, mission and business objectives:
  • Communicate daily status of current projects to Facility Operations and the O&M Superintendent as necessary to ensure all projects are timely and within company and client standards.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, exercises, and drills.
  • Emergency Response Trained in pipeline emergency and incident response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of calibration procedures, calibration equipment, and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of field instruments, control room instruments, computers, and start-up.
  • Ability to follow written directions, plans, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of Bolt-Up and Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to follow CCI Industrial Services, client safety programs, and regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence as required.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives.
  • Ability to relate to and work with personnel at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • NSTC Card
  • A valid driver's license
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems, Instrumentation and Variable Frequency Drives
  • 2 years of electrical or instrumentation / controls experience in an industrial setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PLC and HMI programming experience is preferred.
  • Current Alaska 40 Hour Asbestos Abatement Certification
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facility Operations with knowledge of production systems and equipment
  • Familiarity with Greater Prudhoe Bay Facilities and Pipelines

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
