We are urgently seeking a Certification Project Specialist with 5 years of experience to support the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This role leads the CMS/MMIS Certification Workstream and collaborates closely with Business Leads, Project Teams, Vendors, and State stakeholders to ensure projects meet CMS criteria and are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with certification requirements.
Mandatory Skills & Experience (Must-Haves):
• MMIS / CMS Certification experience
• State government / public sector experience with health & human services programs
(Medicaid, MMIS, claims processing, eligibility, HHS)
• Proven experience managing multiple projects including scope, schedules, quality, and financials
• CMS Medicaid Enterprise Certification Life Cycle expertise
• Healthcare domain knowledge (analytics, reporting, operations, etc.)
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Iterative)
• CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) experience
• Medicaid, MMIS, or claims processing experience
• Proficiency with project tracking tools (Microsoft Project, Jira, MITA Pulse, etc.)
• State experience preferred
