What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer: CAD, selections, customer POC position at CCH Design | Remodel?
We're a full-service design-build remodeling company seeking a long-term professional hire. No part-time hobbyists, please. :-)
Learn a little about us here: https://youtu.be/TwEIi3UyuXY?si=kYqfa3sViFStFSfN
If you're good with people, hip enough to work up HGTV-worthy designs, nerdy enough to run CAD software, and secure enough to work in a small-ish company, then... you're kind of a unicorn. And we finally found you!
Look us up at YourHomeRemodeled.com, and see if you'd like to be part of one of the fastest-growing design/build remodeling companies in the valley, designing beautiful, functional home remodels for great people. :)
Responsibilities:
- Interior Design: Collaborate with customers to select finishes and fixtures, such as appliances, light fixtures, tile, granite tops, cabinet layouts, flooring, paint, etc. etc.; Schedule and attend customers' visits with our suppliers.
- A little bit of CAD: edit plans for remodels and additions on our cutting-edge software, Chief Architect. Any other CAD experience is helpful and will transfer to Chief nicely. We have CAD operators doing the bulk of that work, but if you can do some minor on-the-spot editing, great. We'll get you spun up, and it's pretty easy to learn if you're a little techy.
- Selections Coordinator: Organize customer selections in our project management app (BuilderTrend).
- Customer rep: build and maintain really good client and vendor relationships. You'll be the main POC between sales and production.
- Sales: You'll be the primary contact between the first sales meetings and turning over to the field guys. Contact and manage new customers, guiding them through the Design/Pre-construction process; attend a handful of trade shows each year; DAZZLE potential customers with your design ideas and enthusiasm :)
- Coordinate with our estimating/purchasing nerds and field guys to get materials and fixtures on site
Qualifications (don't be intimidated here, no one's an A in ALL these qualities):
- non-negotiable: you have to be committed to a career in Interior Design and be good with people.
- Previous experience in interior design, construction, sales, or other related fields is preferable, but not required.
- Some formal Interior Design schooling/training would be great
- Familiarity with Chief Architect or other design software is preferable but not required. We'll help you get started, but you'll largely be responsible for getting good at it
- Non-negotiable: Must be enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and friendly to customers (did I mention that already?). If you like people and people like you, call us. We can't train that. :)
- Willingness to work in a small, but well-organized and tech-heavy business. We're a new-ish outfit (est'd 2013) with just a half-dozen employees, but we're well-respected for our business model and customer satisfaction. We're growing fast, and there are growing pains that come with that. We are constantly tweaking systems and processes, so please be willing to help with that. You definitely won't feel like a "cog in a wheel" here.
This is a salaried OR commission, or mostly-commission job, based on the contract amounts of the jobs you bring in and design. We're flexible if we need to include some base salary to phase you in to your commissions if necessary. We intend to compensate you really well. Let's talk.
If you think you might be a good fit. Give me a holler. If you don't have most of these qualifications but have the people skills and enthusiasm for the work, call me. -Mike
