As we scale, we’re seeking a highly skilled Controller to build and oversee our financial infrastructure from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and manage all accounting and financial systems for an expanding business.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Advise ownership on financial strategy, cash flow, and long-term planning.
- Work directly with Accountant and Bankers
- Prepare bids for projects
- Create and maintain spreadsheets
Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, process payroll, and general ledger.
- Manage revenue tracking including roll-off rentals, new construction debris removal and work in progress.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings, permits, and industry-specific requirements.
Operational Oversight
- Work closely with the VP, operations, and sales to ensure accurate billing and cost controls.
- Create and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable procedures.
- Manage office staff.
Technology & Efficiency
- Select and manage accounting software, billing platforms, and integrated operational systems.
- Drive process improvements to support growth, automation, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in accounting or controller-level roles
- Strong understanding of job costing, cash flow management, and scalable financial systems.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and industry-specific software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
