Laundry Technician

CC Young, a vibrant senior living community and a non-profit leader in senior living and Health Care is seeking a Laundry Technician to be responsible for ensuring all linens and personal clothes are properly sorted and washed to specifications, to prevent damage, cross contamination and infection.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am- 3:00pm

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Works at maintaining good rapport and cooperative working relationships with departments, residents, family, and employees.
• Collect dirty laundry from resident apartments, using proper transport and handling required to prevent cross contamination.
• Operate personal and commercial laundry equipment. Wash, dry, inspect and distribute resident personal clothing items and resident linen items.
• Job requires lifting, pulling, and bending to wash, dry and distribute items throughout the facility. Requires standing for long periods of time.
• Maintain the laundry area for orderly and sanitary conditions as directed by your supervisor.
• Report all machine malfunctions, disrepair, damage and other issues that may prevent safety hazard immediately to the supervisor.
• Works in any laundry area of Assisted Living. This will require the ability to tolerate extreme temperatures and strong unpleasant odors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
• Must be able to communicate English orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic math functions and keep records pertaining to the job.
