Location: Sterling, VA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: $106/hr on W2
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Cloud Security Architect to support enterprise cloud security initiatives and serve as a Cloud Security SME for the Information Security team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing secure cloud architectures, implementing cloud-native security controls, and guiding engineering teams on security best practices across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, with a strong focus on GCP security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure cloud and serverless architectures across AWS/GCP/Azure environments.
- Conduct cloud security architecture reviews and identify risks, misconfigurations, and mitigating controls.
- Provide IAM and least-privilege access guidance to development and product teams.
- Create security design artifacts, infrastructure diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Partner with cloud providers and security vendors to evaluate and enhance security capabilities.
- Support automation and DevSecOps initiatives using scripting and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Mentor junior security team members and collaborate with leadership on strategic cloud security initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, tools, and mitigation techniques.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of experience in cloud security architecture, design, and implementation.
- Strong experience with GCP Security (required).
- Expertise in IAM, cloud networking, VPNs, VPC engineering, and security reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless security, and cloud-native security tools.
- Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, or Golang.
- Familiarity with GitHub Security, Elastic Stack, Bash/PowerShell, and cloud CLI tools.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance risks in public cloud environments.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
