Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer with 5 years of functional safety engineering experience in industrial manufacturing or automation environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring machine and control system safety by auditing, designing, and validating Safety Control Systems (SCS) in compliance with ISO 13849-1, ANSI B11, and other applicable safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in safety PLCs, functional safety principles, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to support manufacturing operations and equipment reliability.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Functional Safety Engineering within industrial manufacturing, automation, or controls environments.
- Technical Associate's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- TÜV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent) is required; certification details must be included on the resume.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 13849-1, ANSI B11, and machine safety regulations.
- Experience with Safety PLC programming, including reading, modifying, configuring, and troubleshooting safety logic.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/SPLC communication protocols and industrial control system integration.
- Proven ability to perform technical root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and improve functional safety performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for project tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
