We are seeking an experienced Elder Law Paralegal to join our growing legal team. This role supports attorneys in estate planning, probate, trust and estate administration, guardianships, Medicaid planning, and elder law litigation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft estate planning, probate, guardianship, trust administration, and litigation documents.
- Prepare court filings, deeds, pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, affidavits, and legal correspondence.
- Assist with estate and trust administration, guardianship proceedings, and Medicaid applications.
- Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, billable time, and legal documentation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare materials for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Communicate with clients, courts, financial institutions, medical providers, and other parties to move cases forward.
- Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation and estate administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or 10 years of paralegal experience.
- Prior experience in Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Trust & Estate Administration, or Guardianship preferred.
- North Carolina litigation experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of NC and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence preferred.
- Strong drafting, legal research, organizational, and client communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with document management, billing, docketing, or legal software is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Salary : $35 - $55
