As a Staff Accountant / Analyst with CBIZ, you will work on multiple client accounts each month under the supervision of experienced Managers and Directors. The role includes full month-end closing processes as well as participating in monthly advisory calls. Essential Functions And Primary Duties
- Prepare journal entries as part of month-end close and maintain accurate general ledger and subsidiary ledgers for assigned clients
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll transactions and perform bank and credit card reconciliations as needed
- Handle sales tax filings and basic compliance reporting as needed
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements using our executive reporting tools
- Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and assist in advising clients relative to their financial results
- Collaborate with Managers and Directors on process improvements and best practices
- Participate in monthly client financial and advisory meetings
- Proficiency in QBO accounting software required
- Proficiency in Yardi, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Gusto, other software skills a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working as part of an in-office team environment
- Client- advisory mindset and eagerness to learn and grow
- Enjoy learning and working with Company approved AI tools
- Innovative, forward thinking and constantly looking to streamline and improve processes
- Intrinsic curiosity required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Two years of functional accounting experience
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Able to work in team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
