GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the guidance of the Chief Commercial Banking Officer, the Regional President is responsible for the administration and coordination of commercial lending activities within his/her region. Carries the responsibility for the bank’s commercial loan portfolio in assigned market and assist in the development new business. Negotiates loan structure and terms with new and existing borrowers. Has the responsibility for quality of service given to corporate borrowers and larger relationships. Works with the Training Department to provide training and guidance to direct reports engaged in lending activities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Works with branch managers to determine business plan to reach sales goals and overall system targets.
· Assures delivery of quality customer service through personal leadership and adherence to bank’s quality standards in region.
· Oversees completion of performance evaluations of all personnel reporting directly to this position.
· Actively pursues new deposit opportunities and Treasury Management opportunities in assigned market
· Works with credit administration to develop information needed to underwrite new and existing credit relationships
· Actively participates in activities to build awareness and credibility of the bank and improvement its image.
· Assists Branch Sales Leaders with support of significant community events in their marketing areas.
· Provide leadership and effective communication between subordinates and superiors to assure high quality information flows in all directions.
· Assist in recruiting personnel when necessary outside the bank; however, will seek first to fill positions from within the system if qualified personnel are available and interested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Recommends to the marketing department strategies for new and existing products and services.
· Notifies the branch administrator of any circumstances that may cause potential risk or loss to the bank.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent related experience.
- Strong personal leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to summarize complex information, make presentations of that information, communicate its content and meaning, and make recommendations for appropriate course(s) of action.
- Detailed knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Present a professional image in dealing with customers, inter-bank, external representatives and regulatory personnel.
- Willingness to travel to customer and prospect facilities and conduct inspections of the facilities.
- Assumes any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Chief Commercial Banking Officer.
