General Role Description
Monitors the program during varying shifts in order to ensure the safety of residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively monitors the program and its residents while ensuring resident safety during assigned hours.
- Conducts required safety checks of each resident during the overnight hours, utilizing a trauma informed approach and ensuring documentation of safety checks on required log.
- Actively navigates throughout all areas of the program during assigned shift, in addition to regularly conducted safety searches.
- Ensures program procedures are followed regarding anyone entering or exiting the program during assigned shift and visually observing residents upon entry and exit.
- Responds to all immediate social or housekeeping issues as they arise.
- Provides breathalyzer and toxicology screening as needed.
- Administers prescribed medications and may assist with medication monitoring processes as needed. Proper training on this process will be conducted prior to administering medications independently.
- Responsible for proper oversight of program alarm systems in place and responds to crises and emergencies, and informs appropriate supervisory staff of concerns promptly.
- May assist with program transportation needs upon occasion
- Assists with pest management procedures and reports any pest management issues to the Program Supervisor.
- Prepares bedrooms during periods of resident turnover as well as performing regular room and facility inspections as requested, to assess for safety and/or maintenance needs.
- Inputs data into the agency database as requested by supervisor and within required timeframes.
- Attends and participates in all individual program and agency activities as required by supervisor.
- Attends and participates in all job-related workshops and in-services trainings.
- Responds in a professional and responsible manner to incidents involving contagious diseases (i.e., HIV, Hepatitis B, TB, etc.).
- Serves on agency committees as requested.
- Assists in the implementation of the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Carries out additional duties essential to the above-stated responsibilities as assigned
- Is mindful of and integrates Trauma-Informed Care and its five principles in all duties and interactions with fellow staff, residents, and external partners.
- Maintains compliance with all required rules and regulations including Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid and/or HUD, and any others.
- Regular attendance at work location.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalency diploma; and
- A valid NYS driver’s license may be required depending on the assigned program and shift and reliable automobile.
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
