We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Maintenance Lead to take charge of our facility operations at Cayo Costa to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Cayo Costa Island is a pristine barrier island on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Cayo Costa Hospitality, LLC operates a small retail space, kayak and beach rentals, and the campground on the island.
Job Expectations
- Identify and ensure that all materials and tools are available at job sites as required by the team in order to complete tasks
- Tasks may include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, concrete, heating, welding, roofing and other related jobs
- Assist on assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment
- Inspect and ensure that all tasks are completed as planned
- Ensure that Maintenance team is following the daily designated work plan and manage the flow of work orders
- Ensure that the General Manager is apprised, on a daily basis, of the status of all ongoing projects
- Capable of independent “hands on repairs” in all maintenance disciplines
- Comply with safety policies and procedures including when lifting, climbing, etc.
Position Requirements:
- Basic to Intermediate computer skill level to include Word and Excel
- Demonstrate skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair
- Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or catwalks, crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs
- Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions
- Strong people skills; supervisory assertiveness with the ability to coach, train and mentor staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
- Must have a valid driver license to operate vehicles throughout property
Education and Experience:
- Education: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Technical/trade school diploma or equivalent training preferred
- Experience: 2 years general maintenance required
