We're Hiring: Billing Manager (Catonsville & Sykesville Physical Therapy)
Catonsville and Sykesville Physical Therapy is growing, and we’re looking for the right Billing Specialist to join our team! We are a PT owned private practice who needs a specialist to manage billing insurances for our clinicians. We are a close knit team with exceptionally low turnover looking to expand our availability to patients.
Position Details:
- Full time/salaried
- Salary: Commensurate with experience 45,000-60,000
- Flexible Hours
- Location: Catonsville, Maryland with some work from home flexibility
About The Position:Our Billing Manager reviews all outgoing claims and incoming payments and EOBs to ensure prompt, accurate payment for PT services provided
While some experience is preferred, 3-4 weeks of on the job training will be provided for all new hires.
You will be expected to:
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring adherence to coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications.
- Work within a clearinghouse (Waystar) to flag/correct errors
- Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding of diagnoses and procedures, including ICD coding and CPT coding.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding issues to maximize reimbursement.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and payment histories for audit purposes.
- Stay current with industry regulations, updates in ICD coding systems, and changes in insurance policies to ensure compliance.
- Contact insurance companies to clarify/appeal denials
- Maintain clinician registration with ePrep and CAQH
- Cross train to assist with insurance verification, and front desk duties such as scheduling and collecting copays
Prefer to have candidates with experience in some of the following areas:
- Medical billing and coding
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/Certified Medical Coder (CMC)
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding standards, DRG classifications, and medical billing software.
- While some experience is preferred, 3-4 weeks of on the job training will be provided for all new hires
- Experience working within EMR or EHR systems is highly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently.
- Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
