Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, providing knowledgeable product information and demonstrations to enhance their experience
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts issuance
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays by merchandising products effectively and restocking shelves regularly
• Conduct stock checks, organize inventory, and assist with stocking to ensure product availability and store presentation standards are met
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support cashiering duties with basic math calculations for transactions and refunds
• Assist in supervising team members when needed, contributing to a collaborative store environment
• Demonstrate products through engaging demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and store policies during all activities

Requirements

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments where customer service is key
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not required
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and standing for extended periods
• Excellent phone etiquette skills for professional customer interactions over the phone or in person
• Basic math skills for cash register operations, refunds, and inventory counts
• Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
