What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Design Manager position at Cato Corporation?
JOB SUMMARY: Lead the Print Design team in the development of brand-right, commercially compelling print and pattern to meet the needs of the Buying and Design teams while managing deadlines within multiple development calendars.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the seasonal print and pattern direction in collaboration with VP Trend/Design.Execute seasonal trend deliverables and presentations.
- Research & communicate emerging Print and Pattern trends and translate into brand-appropriate direction.
- Manage Print Design team and lead the development of original artwork for all internal print and pattern needs.
- Provide thoughtful feedback and coaching to Print Designers to elevate the team’s creative output and encourage individual growth and development.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Buying & PD teams to develop and finalize artwork for seasonal product needs.
- Manage Print deadlines and team workflow to meet buying and production deadlines within multiple development calendars. Anticipate potential challenges and proactively identify solutions.
- Manage the team’s resources, supplies and digital file organization.
- Attend strike-off meetings to guide the execution of print to maintain the integrity of the original creative vision.
- Guide the approval process of solid lab dip and bulk submits for all divisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE: 7-10 Years Print Design experience. Management experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Advanced Proficiency using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- NedGraphics experience preferred
- Strong ability to research and translate seasonal print and fashion trends into brand-right, commercially compelling print direction.
- Expert knowledge of Print Design development techniques & textile printing processes.
- Strong leadership skills to support growth and development of individual Print Designers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative direction and provide actionable design feedback to team.
- Must be a proactive problem solver, highly adaptable and organized with strong attention to detail.
