Duties

• Lead and supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
• Manage employee orientation, training, and development to build a motivated and knowledgeable team.
• Conduct interviewing and recruiting processes to attract top talent aligned with store needs.
• Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, purchasing, and inventory control to optimize product availability.
• Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures accurately and securely.
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, returns, and customer inquiries with professionalism.
• Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize sales and meet sales targets.
• Supervise shift management, ensuring proper staffing levels and efficient task delegation.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Monitor retail math metrics such as sales per square foot, average transaction value, and gross profit margins to evaluate store performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, store policies, and company procedures.
• Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting, budgeting, and record-keeping to support store operations.

Skills

• Proven management experience within retail environments with a focus on assistant or store manager roles.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Excellent communication skills—bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases.
• Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques.
• Proficient in POS systems, inventory management software, bookkeeping tools, and basic retail math calculations.
• Demonstrated experience in employee orientation, training & development programs, interviewing techniques, and recruiting processes.
• Sound knowledge of cash handling procedures, payroll processing, and budgeting principles.
• Ability to supervise stock stocking activities, merchandising efforts, and inventory control measures effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service excellence with phone etiquette skills for engaging with clients professionally over the phone or in person.
• Experience with marketing initiatives aimed at increasing foot traffic and sales growth within grocery or general retail stores is advantageous.
• Time management skills that enable effective shift planning and operational oversight.
