What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic - Emergency Department position at Catholic Medical Center?
To deliver care and create a therapeutic environment for patients and families whose needs range from basic to complex by utilizing the nursing process. To carry out functions in a manner consistent with Performance Improvement and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. To demonstrate clinical excellence through proficient practice which enhances and enriches the practice environment. Proficiency is evidenced by adeptness, facility, aptitude, ease and skill in managing complexity and uncertainty.
Emergency Department:
American College of Surgeons Level 3 Trauma Center
Cardiac Center of Excellence
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of paramedicine.
Experience:
A minimum of two years pre-hospital EMS experience at the paramedic level preferred.
Demonstrates competence as a paramedic and has a commitment to continuing professional development.
Each applicant will be assessed individually.
Licensure/ Certification:
Current licensure with the State of New Hampshire as an EMT-Paramedic, or National Registered Paramedic with the capability to become New Hampshire licensed within 30 days. Must have NH License before able to work on ambulance.
ACLS, PALS, and CPR certification required at time of hire and throughout employment
MOAB and NIHSS certifications are required to be obtained within the first year of hire.
Recognized Trauma Course (PHTLS, ITLS, TCCC) recommended
Valid driver's license required, State of NH preferred, prior to working on ambulance.
Verification of good driving record at time of hire and annual essential driver skills assessment as required per department policy.
