What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Educator position at Catholic Health?
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN). NYS RN License required. Masters in Nursing preferred (APRN- Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Educator). Excellent communication skills- verbal and written.
Ability to relate effectively to patients, families, and staff. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
Current ACLS and BLS required
Job Details
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the below (specific to the Emergency Department):
• Serves as a consultant/resource to Emergency Department nursing staff in interpreting policy/procedure standards and evidence-based practices of emergency nursing care.
• Provides clinical oversight and supports the safe development of new hires within the Emergency Department, assisting with the transition of newly licensed graduates into emergency nursing practice.
• Meets regularly with Emergency Department orientees and preceptors.
• Confers with the Director of Nursing Education regarding the competency of new Emergency Department hires.
• Provides teaching instructions to Emergency Department staff members while assessing and evaluating competency.
• Participates in the planning and analysis of educational programs based on evidence-based standards and guidelines to meet the needs of Emergency Department nursing staff.
• Collaborates with the health care team to provide safe and high-quality emergency patient care.
Salary Range
USD $103,000.00 - USD $136,800.00 /Yr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
