Clerical Assistant - ICU - PD

Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of clerical functions on the Nursing Unit including, but not limited to, meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to floor.
• Answers questions from patients and/or family members or redirects to appropriate care team member for response.
• Transcribes orders; prepares patient chart on admission; ensures that chart is maintained appropriately; dismantles chart upon discharge; prepares diet and census sheets; rewrites medex once a week; prepares venipuncture list; assists in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
• Assists the care team with the discharge process.
• Answers telephones in a professional manner; distributes mail.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a doctor’s office or healthcare facility preferred.
