Position Overview
The Maintenance Worker supports the mission of Marian Central Catholic High School by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. This position involves daily cleaning, facility, upkeep, light repairs, and general maintenance tasks throughout the school and surrounding grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs and minor plumbing, electrical or carpentry tasks.
- Set up and break down spaces for school events, assemblies and meetings.
- Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe and free from debris or snow.
- Organize maintenance supplies and equipment; notify the Director of Facilities when stock needs replenishing.
- Assist with deliveries, moving furniture and other manual tasks as requested.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a secure facility.
- Indoor and outdoor tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in custodial, facilities, or general maintenance work preferred.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and safely use hand and power towels.
- Dependable, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform manual labor.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
