What are the responsibilities and job description for the Discipleship Administrative Assistant position at Catholic Diocese of Lansing?
St. Patrick Catholic Parish Brighton, Michigan is seeking a part-time (24 hours per week) Discipleship Administrative Assistant.
Working closely with the Adult Discipleship team and reporting to the Director of Christian Service and Outreach, the Discipleship Assistant will provide administrative support across key parish ministries on our Discipleship Pathway to help further our mission of making Spirit-filled missionary disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God the Father.
Key Responsibilities
- Active engagement in our Mission of Discipleship
- Initiate and maintain the parish’s discipleship pathway software to help parishioners grow in their relationship with Christ — managing data, reports, and training to ensure every encounter fosters a deeper faith.
- Prepare and send correspondence that reflects the welcoming spirit of St Patrick Parish.
- Monitor the parish website so it reflects current ministries and opportunities for spiritual growth.
- Manage calendars, schedule events, and reserve rooms to ensure clear communication and coordination between all ministries.
- Order necessary supplies to support the ongoing ministry of the parish.
- Create certificates to document sacramental milestones.
- Support Christian Service and Outreach Initiatives
- Keep community resource files updated to better connect individuals and families with spiritual and practical assistance rooted in Catholic social teaching.
- Empower volunteer disciples by maintaining volunteer lists and creating engaging sign-up forms that invite parishioners to live out their baptismal call through service and ministry.
- Support Marriage Ministry
- Accompany couples in faith by assisting with marriage file preparation.
- Ensure sacramental integrity by requesting, recording and sending essential documentation with accuracy and timeline.

- Be committed to growing in holiness through daily prayer and personal conversion.
- Be organized and detail oriented, able to take initiative, work in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to deadlines
- Be comfortable with various computer applications and software programs
- Be approachable, affable, and capable of working well with different personalities
- Be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
