Full-time Physical Education Teacher: Holy Family School in Stow is a K–8 school experiencing continued enrollment growth, prompting the expansion of several grade-level classrooms. Position Overview: This is for a full-time Physical Education Teacher who will design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages students to develop healthy habits, personal growth, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver an age-appropriate physical education curriculum aligned with school standards. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions among students. Assess student progress and provide feedback to support skill development and physical fitness. Maintain a safe, organized, and motivating environment for all students. Create a learning environment that is safe and nurturing. Confer with parents/guardians, co-teachers, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral or academic needs. Supervise students during lessons and other times as scheduled. Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate physical education with broader school initiatives. Attend and participate in staff meetings, extra-curricular activities, and committees. Perform duties assigned by the school administration, for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field. Valid Ohio teaching license VIRTUS trained or willing to obtain Ability to successfully pass a BCI & FBI background check Hold or be willing to obtain proper religious certification through the Diocese of Cleveland. Strong knowledge of fitness, health, and sports education. Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Strong commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
