Position Description:
The Case Manager I-Employment Specialist of Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, Migration & Refugee Services, assists and prepares refugees and asylees to become self-sufficient through employment. Working under the Refugee Support Services Employment Program he/she is responsible for fulfilling all contractual obligations of the state-funded grant. This role is contingent on grant funding.
Position Responsibilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Specific vision requirements due to computer work and driving a motor vehicle. Light to moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.

Position Description:
The Case Manager I-Employment Specialist of Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, Migration & Refugee Services, assists and prepares refugees and asylees to become self-sufficient through employment. Working under the Refugee Support Services Employment Program he/she is responsible for fulfilling all contractual obligations of the state-funded grant. This role is contingent on grant funding.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct program orientation, intake, and assessment for clients; develop individual employment plans and provide case management to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Enroll clients into ESL classes & vocational trainings to increase employability.
- Connect clients with job opportunities.
- Prepares clients to enter the workforce within 90 days of arrival. Provide services to include orientation to the job market, skills assessment, career guidance, resume development, job application assistance, job referrals, interview preparation, job placement and follow up.
- Educate clients about resources available in the community, including public benefits; make internal and external referrals to support client self-sufficiency and integration.
- Educate clients about legal documents required for works, provide referrals for adjustment of status and naturalization.
- In alignment with agency standards, document all services in case notes and maintain required eligibility documentation; enter client data into agency databases in accordance with grant requirements.
- Provide services within the required timelines. Document services per agency standard.
- Develop new employer and training provider partnerships.
- Attend regular supervision meetings, case consultations, contribute toward crisis mitigation strategies.
- Follows all Agency policies & procedures.
- Commitment to mission, goals, and services of Catholic Charities.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual English and 1 other language spoken by clients: Ukrainian, Dari, Pashtu, Arabic, Spanish, Amharic.
- Flexible to work irregular hours.
- Microsoft Office Suite & Database entry fluency.
- Associate degree with 3-5 years’ experience required or Bachelor’s degree in social services field preferred.
- Previous experience in a culturally diverse environment, 2 years refugee resettlement experience preferred.
- Valid US driver’s license with 3 years of licensed driving in the US, good driving record. Willing to drive clients.
