Position Summary
This position will have responsibility for gaining practical work experience in the area of behavioral health counseling, social work, and case management. Responsibilities will include shadowing, outreach, assessment, individual and family counseling, and case management.
This unpaid internship is for master's-level students in their second year or advanced standing program of a mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or similar clinical program. Placements are fully on-site in our Yakima clinics and are open only to students needing a placement for a full academic year or longer. We are seeking students for start dates in June 2026 or later.

Physical Requirements
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. Position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision.

Responsibilities
- Develop and adhere to the Learning Plan developed with assigned site supervisor and graduate program
- Under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional
- Provide intake assessments, diagnosis, ongoing culturally sensitive treatment using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy framework, and develop treatment plans
- Actively participate in individual and group supervision and clinical staff meetings
- Complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours of services rendered
- Coordinate client treatment with schools, physicians, and other community resources and referrals to community services whenever necessary
- Observe confidentiality in all related program functions with staff and clients
- Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and other community mental health providers, primary care, and other referral sources
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Must be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or similar behavioral health science
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
- Must be approved as a driver by Catholic Charities' liability insurance provider
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
