Position Summary

This position is responsible for the services and operations of New Journeys FEP (First Episode Psychosis) program under the direction of the Outpatient Services Lead Manager. Administratively, this position will ensure that the New Journeys FEP (First Episode Psychosis) program meets the administrative and financial expectations of the funding source by maintaining fidelity to the evidence-based treatment model and completing monthly reports and ensuring they are submitted within expected timelines governed by the funder.

Clinically, this position oversees clinical and administrative staff working within the “Coordinated Specialty Care Model” and ensures that staff are trained and work to the limit of their credentials and to the full-scope of their job duties. The New Journeys FEP team works collaboratively with the client, and family or other significant persons, to provide state-of-the-art treatment for first episode psychosis. Team members work individually and collaboratively to instill hope in people recovering from a first episode of psychosis, helping them establish and work towards personally meaningful goals, and providing the best treatment available for their illness in order for them to get back their lives. This program serves Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan Counties.

Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership Duties

  • Provides information to families and clients regarding the program, screening and intakes
  • Conducts community outreach and provides presentations on the program
  • Provides clinical supervision and structure for New Journeys FEP team, as well as support to other multidisciplinary team members
  • Supports ongoing training and quality improvement efforts
  • Responsible for ensuring the program meets the fidelity of the model, that staff are working efficiently by coordinating huddles of daily operations, reviewing reports, daily outreach, and scheduling / response to requests for service and intakes.
  • Routine travel within Chelan and Douglas Counties with occasional travel to Grant and Okanogan Counties for community outreach, client care, and coordination with other organizations
  • Develops referral networks and strengthens community partnerships

Clinical Duties

  • Works with individuals, families, and groups as a clinician and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Teaches clients, families, and groups about psychosis and its treatment and demystifies counseling
  • Works with clients to reduce relapse by encouraging medication adherence when applicable and monitors early warning signs of relapse
  • Coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), hospitals, community providers, natural supports and other community providers as needed, providing strategic and technical guidance to the team.

Physical Requirements

This position normally requires the physical demands of sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking, hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time.

Non-Physical Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, or a related field leading to eligibility for clinical licensure

Experience

  • Experience providing clinical supervision preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practices preferred

Special Skills

  • Knowledge of community mental health systems and requirements
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop rapport with clients and consumers
  • Ability to manage high detail clinical and administrative tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours to accommodate evening hours as necessary
  • Strong computer skills, with familiarity with behavioral health databases and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Mental Health Counselor or Associate (LMHC or LMHCA), Independent Clinical Social Work or Associate (LICSW or LICSWA), Marriage & Family Therapist or Associate (LMFT or LMFTA) licenses or Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) credential with the Washington State Department of Health within 120 days of hire
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider

Employment Is Conditional Upon

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Wage Range: $97,520-$108,120 per year, depending experience
