What You’ll DoAs a key member of our Project Safe Point team, you will:
Remain current with industry standards for syringe access programs in NYS and across the country.
Provide safer use supplies to eligible participants as part of mobile outreach team
Engage in participant recruitment activities such as outreach to community organizations and street outreach including participation in the Neighborhood Support Coalition Outreach (NSC) efforts
Conduct initial screening and/or intake activities for referred participants in need of harm reduction case management to evaluate participant needs
Implement harm reduction strategies aimed at helping individuals minimize their immediate health and safety risks.
HS Diploma or GED
Must have a personal cell phone, valid driver’s license, proof of current car insurance and registration and access to a working, reliable vehicle.
Knowledge of Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, and Hepatitis C.
Comfort and experience working with current or former substance users
Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist pay: $21.54
Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist schedule: 37.5 hours a week, Monday–Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM
