Summary: The camp counselor is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of campers, leading a variety of recreational activities like sports, arts, crafts, and outdoor adventures, while fostering a positive and supportive environment for children by teaching new skills, promoting group dynamics, and acting as a positive role model; key duties include planning activities, managing camper behavior, enforcing camp rules, and responding to emergencies when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Direct camper supervision: Actively monitor campers during all activities, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
· Activity planning and execution: Design and lead engaging activities like games, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, hiking, and more, tailored to different age groups.
· Group management: Foster positive group dynamics, resolve conflicts among campers, and promote inclusivity.
· Instruction and skill development: Teach new skills related to camp activities, including proper technique and safety procedures.
· Emergency response: Be prepared to handle minor injuries and emergencies, reporting incidents to camp leadership promptly.
· Camp rules enforcement: Uphold camp policies and guidelines to maintain a safe and structured environment.
· Communication and reporting: Maintain open communication with supervisor, other staff, and parents, providing updates on camper’s progress and any concerns.
· Camp maintenance: Assist with cleaning and upkeep of camp facilities and equipment.
· Positive role modeling: Demonstrate positive behavior, appropriate language, and respect for others.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, seasonal position. Days and hours of work are generally 7:30AM to 3:30PM Monday - Friday. Extended hours may be required as needed.

Education and/or experience required:
