What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Coordinator position at Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado?
Overview
The Grants Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and management of all grant activities for the agency. This includes identifying prospective grants, writing proposals, and ensuring the submission of timely and accurate reports to funders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the agency’s portfolio of current foundation grants, federal grants and state grants ensuring all deadlines are met and compliance requirements are fulfilled.
- Lead the writing and preparation of grant proposals, including all required support materials, ensuring submission by stated deadlines.
- Serve as the liaison between Catholic Charities and funders as directed by the Development & Communications Director.
- Research and identify potential Grantmakers whose funding priorities align with the agency’s mission and programs.
- Develop strategic application plans for new prospects to maximize funding opportunities.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal grant committee meetings.
- Organize and schedule grant reception meetings with the Executive Director, Program Directors, and Development & Communications Director.
- Propose improvements to existing grant management processes and systems.
- Advise the Executive Director and Development & Communications Director on long-term grant strategy development.
- Participate in agency-wide strategic and operational planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Development & Communications Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in grants management, or contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of laws governing grants.
- Timely and accurate in meeting goals, objectives, and external/internal requests.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Responsive and respectful in interactions with staff and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- In-depth understanding of the agency’s programs and the communities it serves in Southern Colorado.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, particularly regarding donor and grant information.
- Proficient with remote work technologies, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Open to constructive feedback and committed to professional growth.
This position may be considered hybrid for the right candidate; however, this option is not guaranteed and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and the organization’s needs. The selected individual will be expected to work on-site at least two days per week, with additional in-office presence as required based on workload and organizational activities.
