What are the responsibilities and job description for the LifeSkills Paraprofssional position at Catawba Valley Healthcare?
This is a full time position working in a day program center located in the Hickory, NC area. The position assists in providing training to clients with severe or profound developmental disabilities. The selected candidate teaches and guides clients to develop basic work, social and living skills. Trains clients to acquire skills in independent living, self-help, adaptive behavior, pre-vocational and community living. Assists with personal hygiene needs of clients. Participates in person-centered planning. Collects and records client data to ensure accurate record keeping. Transports clients to and from the Life Skills facility using a van. Must be a minimum of 22 years old to meet driving insurance requirements.
Must have a working knowledge of the developmental disabled population and must possess the knowledge and skill building trainings through a variety of training techniques. Experience with this population a must.
