Position Summary - The Kitchen Supervisor plays a key leadership role in daily culinary operations, supporting the Kitchen Manager in managing high-volume, multi-outlet food service within a fast-paced casino environment. This position is hands-on, people-focused, and execution-driven, ensuring consistent food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction across restaurants, buffets, banquets, lounges, and special events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations across one or multiple casino food outlets

Execute menus to established standards, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion control

Monitor service flow and lead service during peak periods, special events, promotions, and high-volume casino traffic

Ensure all recipes, prep standards, and plating guidelines are followed accurately

Collaborating with the Kitchen Manager and executive team members on menu development, seasonal features, and casino promotions

Supervise, train, coach, and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen leads

Assist with scheduling, labor management, and shift coverage to meet operational demands

Maintain a positive, professional kitchen culture that emphasizes teamwork and accountability

Enforce kitchen policies, performance standards, and disciplinary procedures when necessary

Build stronger cross-functional relationships within the team to support overall performance

Assist with inventory management, product rotation, and waste reduction

Support ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies

Monitor food costs, yields, and portion control to meet budget targets

Assist with monthly inventories and cost of goods tracking and waste control

Ensure culinary execution aligns with the casino’s brand, service standards, and guest expectations

Respond professionally to guest feedback or special requests
- Support VIP events, banquets, and high-profile casino functions as needed
Qualifications:
Qualifications

Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, 24/7 operations

Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of progressive food & beverage experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant or casino environment. Previous F&B lead roles in culinary or operations experience required
Education
- Culinary degree or formal training preferred but not required
Licenses and Certifications
- Must be able to obtain a Catawba Gaming License.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids. Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs. Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms. Standing and walking for entire length of shift. Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
