Data Analyst

Position Overview

You’ll be a key player in IT Operations, analyzing data from multiple sources to enhance our databases and guide city-wide decision-making. Working closely with department leaders and reporting to the IT Operations Director, you’ll bridge the gap between raw information and actionable strategies. We’re hiring now because our data-driven initiatives are growing, and we need an expert who can turn complexity into clarity for measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight

• Study data from various databases to identify trends and recommend improvements (e.g., boost data accuracy by 20% within 6 months).
• Conduct statistical programming and develop reports, summaries, and visual dashboards for leadership.

Collaboration & Consultation

• Partner with City departments to extract accurate data from core systems, offering technical guidance.
• Provide consultation to refine data collection processes, reducing errors and redundancies.

Reporting & Communication

• Create compelling visual representations of data to influence strategic decision.
• Present findings to stakeholders quarterly, translating technical insights into practical steps.

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 10 years of technical or business experience in data analysis or related roles.
• Expertise in statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) and data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with municipal or public sector data systems.
• Advanced statistical modeling skills.
