Catapult is assisting our client, Old Saratoga, in their search for a Quality Assurance Practitioner.
Old Saratoga is a leading bottled water supplier facility located in Stantonsburg, North Carolina (Eastern Wilson County). We are an entrepreneurial-minded, growing company founded in 1992 with an established customer base and new market potential. The company is strategically located on a secure 50-acre private location which draws its water from the Black Creek Aquifer in Saratoga, NC.
Old Saratoga is currently interested in speaking to qualified candidates for the vacant Quality Assurance Practitioner position. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own quality control, audit compliance for SQF certifying bodies, and customer inspection/audits.
- Validation and verification of OSI's SQF Edition 9 System.
- Handle compliance in accord with all regulatory agencies at local, state, and federal level.
- Maintain all SQF manuals and documents, and conduct recurrent meetings on SQF and quality-related issues.
- Oversee all company training and safety programs.
- Assist the Plant Manager with ensuring all lab records are kept up to date and ready for audit at all times.
- Assist the Plant Manager with monitoring and maintaining all applicable production permits.
- Provide assistance with daily production, maintenance, product development and some special projects.
Qualifications:
- Certified SQF Practitioner with three to five (3-5) years’ relevant food production experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with basic microbiology and quality assurance including HACCP, GMPs, SQF (Safe Quality Foods), USDA and military audit requirements.
- Experience in wholesale distribution strongly preferred.
- An understanding of the SQF Edition 9 Code and the requirements to implement and maintain Food Safety and Quality plans under the scope of the certification is a requirement.
- Knowledge of environmental health and fundamentals of sanitation.
- Disciplined self-starter who appreciates a tightknit, hands-on operation.
