The Mequon-Thiensville School District is a PK-12 district located along the coast of Lake Michigan in a northern suburb of Milwaukee that serves more than 3,500 students. Responsibilities:
- Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce academic skills
- Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities
- Prepares academic and nonacademic materials and assists in record keeping
- Directs student activities during temporary absence of the teacher from the classroom
- Assists with emergency and crisis situations as needed
- Assists in supervision of students during nonacademic activities such as recess, lunch, field trips and assembly programs, etc.
Requirements:
- Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic
- Department of Public Instruction certification - or eligibility for certificate which includes at least 48 post high school credits
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
