Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper position report directly to the President and is responsible for providing bookkeeping and payroll services to company clients.
Responsibilities:
- Builds strong working relationships with clients
- Identifies and communicates client issues and progress in a timely and organized manner
- Retains and organizes client accounting documents
- Assists in creating efficient and scalable processes for both clients & in-house
- Works as an effective team member to accurately complete client bookkeeping tasks, including:
- Recording daily transactions
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
- Perform accounts receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, and collections
- Preparing bank, credit card and loan reconciliations
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Assisting in client payroll processing
- Year-end preparation of Form 1099s and W2s
- Preparing client sales tax returns
Skillset Preference:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in multiple industries and understanding of business accounting processes across different industries
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Ability to quickly adapt to and work within client processes, procedures and reporting needs
Required Education & Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent on-the-job experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficient in multiple accounting software programs and integrated programs, specifically Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online
- Experience managing multiple clients is a plus
- Experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Banking Transactions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
