Position Summary

The Lead Crown and Bridge Specialist will be responsible for optimizing the supply chain by purchasing, tracking, and organizing materials to ensure uninterrupted production. This role will manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, set stock levels, and resolve inventory discrepancies to minimize costs and improve efficiency.

Success in this role requires pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical for reducing operational costs, ensuring quality, and facilitating a smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand customer prescriptions, work orders, and use dental lab operational software as needed.
• Assist in the training, mentorship and development of partnering crown and bridge technicians within the department.
• Assist in the coordination of outsourcing.
• Operate motor handpiece (low & high), set the proper temperature to operate porcelain furnace, understand, and use specific porcelain to achieve the successful fabrication process and crown outcome.
• Prioritize and complete cases one day prior to the due date and before the ship date or when the scheduled date arrives - ensure all cases are reviewed by the C&B (Ceramist) Manager for Quality Control / Assurance upon product completion and prior to shipping.
• Assist Crown & Bridge QC Manager in optimizing production workflow.
• Play a role in the hiring process, and employee reviews / assessments and disciplinary actions.
• Perform tasks encompassing the producing of artistic, esthetic, and high-quality restorations.
• Proficient in the “start-to-finish” process in aspects of crown and bridge restorations.
• Communicate with our internal team as well as external customers (Dental Providers/Offices).
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Formal training in dental laboratory technology or related field
• Keen attention-to-detail
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques, including the ability to fabricate, repair, or alter dental devices like crowns, inlays, dentures, and bridges, and test appliances for conformance to specifications and accuracy of occlusion using articulators and micrometers.
• Experience with a wide variety of high-tech materials, such as zirconia, ceramics, and metal alloys (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow prescribed protocols and procedures (required).
• Ability to receive RX orders from doctors and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
• Well-balanced personality and professional attitude.
• CAD/CAM Digital Design and Digital Workflow experience and expertise.
• Dexterity skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and good vision.
