The Equipment Operations Intern is responsible for supporting the Equipment Operation Team while learning basic mechanical maintenance and repairing pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. This internship provides hands-on learning opportunities in mechanical operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment under close supervision and mentorship of experienced technicians.
Shifts: 20-28 hours/week.
This position is 100% on-site at the Greenville site.

The Role
Assist with preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, tablet presses, coating machines, and packaging systems.
Observe and assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS (e.g., BMRAM) in compliance with GMP standards.
Participate in equipment setups, changeovers, and basic mechanical adjustments to meet production goals.
Assist with mechanical and electrical testing (e.g., vibration analysis, alignment checks, voltage readings).
Maintain clean, organized workspaces and adhere to all safety, environmental, and pharmaceutical regulations.
Shadow experienced technicians and contributed to continuous improvement and equipment optimization efforts
Perform all other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Currently enrolled in Industrial Technologies or equivalent discipline (minimum 1 semester completed), Introductory coursework in mechanical systems, motors, power transmission, and electrical fundamentals is preferred.
Must be located within 50 miles of the Greenville, North Carolina, site to be considered
Basic familiarity with hand tools and willingness to learn measuring instruments and maintenance procedures
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
Interest in learning safety procedures for mechanical equipment operation and willingness to learn various mechanical tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted, heavier items with assistance
Work performed while standing, walking, and performing light mechanical tasks
Use of hands for basic tool operation, adjustments, and fine manipulations
Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb to access mechanical equipment
Exposure to mechanical lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and pharmaceutical environments with proper PPE
