Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts and audit processes from the Production Department according to specifications. The QA Inspector also inspects rework parts/materials from customers to determine if parts can be restocked.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform inspections of incoming material and manufactured components using testing equipment.
- Inspect finished product according to our surface quality criteria identifying and separating defects so they do not go to our customers.
- Rework or reject finished products as required.
- Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
- Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Evaluate problems and recommend possible corrective action to the supervisor.
- Work with production management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback and training to employees regarding the accuracy of production procedures.
- Perform assembly, manufacturing, and packing tasks as required.
Skills and/or Competencies:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English
- Ability to write basic communication to understand on-the-job work standards in English
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and/or small group.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Good arithmetic (basic math) skills are required
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of quality inspection in a manufacturing environment required
- Mechanical aptitude desired
