The Cat Hospital at Towson (CHAT) is looking for a passionate and skilled full-time veterinary technician to join our feline-exclusive practice in Maryland! Come grow with us!
CHAT was founded as Maryland’s first ever cat-exclusive animal hospital. Our mission is to foster that special bond existing between a client and their cat through our Core Values of Compassion, Competence and Commitment. We do this by providing empathetic care for cats with considerate service. Through our commitment, compassion, and expertise the Cat Hospital At Towson will continue to be a respected leader in the feline health community.
Successful candidates will possess effective communication skills and the desire to overcome challenges with a willingness to share your knowledge, experience, and compassion with our patients, clients, and team. As a veterinary technician with Cat Hospital at Towson, you will be responsible for:
- Bringing a minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience (required)
- Applying AAFP Cat Friendly and/or Fear Free handling techniques (required)
- Performing dental prophylaxis and anesthesia monitoring under supervision
- Demonstrating proficiency in venipuncture and IV catheter placement under supervision
- Collection and setting up various laboratory diagnostics and digital radiography
- Ensuring compliance with DEA and OSHA standards, while maintaining accurate records and protocols
- Maintaining electronic medical records with accuracy and efficiency
- Providing compassionate, professional client service and education
- Exhibiting organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail in all aspects of patient care
- Navigating practice management software and Microsoft Office applications with proficiency
