Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join the Castle team.
The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality workmanship, has a strong eye for detail, and understands that proper planning and communication are essential to a successful remodeling project. You will work closely with our designers, Project Managers, and other trades to ensure tile installations meet project specifications and Castle's high standards.
Responsibilities
- Meet with the Castle design and project management teams to review tile selections, layouts, and project requirements.
- Accurately measure and plan tile installations before beginning work.
- Lay out tile patterns and think ahead to identify potential challenges before installation.
- Install tile in kitchens, bathrooms, showers, floors, backsplashes, and other residential remodeling applications.
- Prepare surfaces and ensure proper installation methods are followed.
- Perform precise cuts using hand and machine cutting tools.
- Maintain consistent grout lines, spacing, alignment, and overall finish.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and design details.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems that arise during installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, designers, homeowners, and other trades.
- Provide professional customer service while working in clients' homes.
- Maintain Castle's standards for craftsmanship, cleanliness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 5 years of tile-setting experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tile installation techniques and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately measure, calculate, and lay out tile installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead.
- Basic carpentry skills.
- Ability to operate hand tools and tile-cutting equipment.
- Ability to read and follow plans and specifications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a team.
- Ability to work while crouching, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation is required.
