Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Shipping and Receiving candidate to join our team. This role will play a critical part in maintaining the smooth flow of materials within our facility, various shipping and receiving functions, handling various warehouse tasks, inventory management and organization, and a key role in keeping our promises to ALL our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials within the facility.
- Load and unload trucks, process incoming and outgoing shipments, and pack boxes for shipments.
- Assemble tray and basket assemblies, band skids, and ensure proper labeling for shipments.
- Utilize business system to inquire about purchase orders, casting weights, shop orders, and inventory information. Record inventory transactions accurately (from WIP to finished goods and transfers from one location to another)
- Use shipping platforms such as UPS Worldship, FedEx, and other shipping websites to process packages and envelopes.
- Handwrite packing lists and other shipping documents as necessary.
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting in the shipping department.
- Maintain forklift certification and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform some lifting (up to 50 pounds on a semi-repetitive basis)
- Attention to detail
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, adhering to safety and compliance standards
- Collaborate with other departments to meet customer requirements and resolve issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification/license.
- At least 3-5 years of prior experience in shipping and receiving, or warehouse operations is required; manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Good math skills
- Exceptional computer literacy
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
