RN-MDS/Infection Preventionist

Cass County Senior Living & Rehab – Virginia, IL

As we continue to grow, we are excited to offer a dual-role opportunity for a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our leadership team at Cass County Senior Living & Rehab. This unique position combines MDS Nurse and Infection Preventionist, allowing you to make a meaningful impact across multiple areas of resident care and regulatory excellence.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, with time split between both roles (a couple of days each week in MDS and Infection Prevention), along with participation in the on-call rotation.

Position Overview

In this combined role, you will:

• Oversee and complete MDS assessments, care planning, and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Ensure accuracy of coding to support quality outcomes and reimbursement
• Lead the facility’s Infection Prevention & Control Program, including surveillance, tracking, and reporting of infections
• Audit infection control practices across all departments
• Educate and collaborate with staff to promote best practices in infection prevention
• Periodically monitor practices on off-shifts to ensure consistency facility-wide

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of Illinois (required)
• Previous MDS experience required
• Strong interest and commitment to Infection Prevention
• Ability to complete CDC Infection Preventionist Training (if not already completed)
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work Monday–Friday with participation in on-call rotation

Wages

• RN: $39.00 – $41.00 per hour
• Pay based on experience and qualifications
