Summary:
The Proctor at the Casper College Testing Center provides assistance to the Testing Center Coordinator and Testing Center Specialist in the center’s operations. This position requires the ability to uphold the secure testing environment and the confidentiality, integrity, and security for all testing.
This is a 19-hour per week, non-benefited position. The work schedule is variable, based on the needs of the Testing Center and includes some Thursday evenings.
Responsibilities:
The Testing Center Proctor assures that standards and procedures are maintained for all test types in accordance with the National College Testing Association’s Professional Standards and Guidelines.
Essential Duties
Actively proctor test administrations for Casper College students.
- Upon qualification, actively proctor test administrations for community members who seek to meet licensing, certification or other goals.
- Diligently conduct pre-testing procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the testing center.
- Accept and process requests for testing appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and records; adhere to college, FERPA and other applicable regulations with access to highly confidential records.
- Attend training as needed to support testing activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in any field, OR a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a customer service or related position
- Basic computer knowledge
- Knowledge of office equipment such as printers and copiers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and effectively solve problems in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in teaching, training, or testing
- Experience troubleshooting PC and related software applications
- Previous experience in higher education

Work Environment:
Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal work week. Work is usually performed during the normal workday; however, occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required. Most work is done in a testing room which requires long periods without talking.
Employee must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required; less frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
