Summary:
The Senior Admissions Representative serves as a public representative of Casper College and actively collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration in the design, development, marketing, and implementation of admissions programs and services. This position provides recruitment services and also serves in a leadership role by providing training and support of the daily operations for two admissions representatives and participates in the supervision of student work studies. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
In collaboration with the Director of Admissions, lead and mentor two admissions representatives by developing and implementing training, delegating projects, and supporting on-going recruitment efforts.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Casper College campus visit programs and events.
- Provide recruitment services to prospective students and families. This includes travel within an assigned territory, meeting regularly with students and families, and connecting with students through various communication methods. This includes serving as a back-up for out-of-town recruitment as necessary.
- Cultivate relationships with campus employees, high school counselors and staff, and community stakeholders in order to develop partnerships that will benefit prospective students and contribute to new and innovative recruitment-focused programming.
- Organize and participate in recruitment outreach activities: presentations on and off campus, high school events, community recruitment events, state-event tables, etc. and also maintaining a presence in local high schools in partnership with the BOCES Academic Advisor.
- Maintain accurate notes of students seen and duties performed; maintain program usage statistics, analyze and report on data toward improvement of services.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of admissions and recruitment best practices by participating in professional development opportunities such as workshops, trainings or national conferences.
- Support and assist team members in the execution of prospective and current student programming and services and various other duties as needed.
- Serve the broader mission of the college and Student Services by serving and attending on-campus committees and events and the Wyoming Admissions Officers organization.
- Other duties may be assigned according to department need and scope.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution with 2 years of college admissions experience.
- At least one year of experience in a student services, advising, event coordination, sales or marketing role.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, effective teamwork, and multi-departmental collaboration.
- Computer proficiency and a willingness to learn and maintain new technology.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities including planning large collaborative projects or events.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, ororganizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Demonstrated ability to create and foster community relationships on behalf of an organization.
- Valid motor vehicle license at the time of hire and must obtain a Wyoming driver’slicense within 30 days of hire. Must maintain insurability under the College’sinsurance plan.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.- 2 or more years of work experience in higher education admissions
- 2 years experience working within a CRM.
- 2 years experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to make data informed & strategic decisions on behalf of yourself and others.
- Demonstrated experience with onboarding and training.
Supplemental Information
Work Environment:
Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Interaction with the public will be required, especially when recruiting. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Extensive travel will be required for this position, during which time the employee will be subjected to various environmental and weather conditions. Work is usually performed during the normal workday; however, early morning, late evening and weekend work will be required during periods of critical attendance to meet the peak periods related to position responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
Employees are regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required (office supplies, paper boxes, etc) with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able and willing to drive for extended periods of time outside of regular work hours.
