Logistics Coordinator
Purpose: Provide entry level support to the logistics department position that will include significant data entry work that is critical to the operation. Will be supporting the daily operation of logistics in order to acquire control of inbound freight at less than delivered prices to enhance the bottom line and recover of Over, Short, & Damaged (OSD) on a daily basis. Solves practical problems and deliver solutions that contribute to the ability of the business to grow. Deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited Standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Daily communication with buyers, fleet dispatcher, and vendors. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday daytime hours
Wage: Starting was is expected to be $18 - $24 per hour, depending on experience
Major Functional Responsibilities
- Assist the Logistics Manager as needed with the following duties:
- Review top 100 managed vendors every 6 months and review all vendors annually to verify pick-up information and rate.
- Complete daily and weekly billing for logistic and outside vendors and help maintain a receivable ledger.
- Prepare billing of freight on all loads hauled by the company as outside trucks along with running revue reports.
- Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance. Manage all logistics OS&D to control cost with inventory control.
- Research, complete, and maintain logistics profiles on all vendors. Perform all aspects of computer entry and file maintenance in TMS200 transportation management system. Update Foodstar system with logistics related information.
- Invoice all logistics loads and apply appropriate unloading charges. Export loads daily. Generate daily and weekly profitability reports.
- Identify backhaul pickups that do not meet the minimum requirement for revenue.
- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field helpful.
Work Experience
- 6 months relevant experience helpful
Other Experience
- Logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or related experience helpful.
- Proven experience in working directly with transportation carriers or managing freight operations helpful.
- Ability to secure optimal carrier contracts and maintain strong partnerships helpful
- Proficiency in analyzing transportation costs, performance metrics, and logistics data helpful
- Familiarity with transportation laws and compliance standards helpful.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or other logistics software helpful
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is helpful
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is helpful
